Lesson 1: History of Yoga and the Hatha Yoga Styles
and
Lesson 2: Yogic Philosophy


In this meeting we started our time with a discussion on how to utilize the Student Portal to complete your coursework. We then briefly discussed the history of Yoga and started our discussion on Yogic Philosophy and how to practically apply this information. We talked about the 4 main paths of Yoga, the types of Yoga, and started our discussion on the Eight Limbs and the purpose of Yoga. Next week we will pick up our discussion of the purpose of Yoga and the Eight Limbs as well as discuss the he Yoga Sutras. We will then dive into the the Bhagavad Gita, gunas, and the vedanta.
